Urban Edge is seeking a proactive, detail-driven Credit Controller and General Administrator to support the financial health and smooth day-to-day operations of the practice.

This role is essential in managing credit control processes, maintaining strong cash flow, and ensuring accurate financial and administrative systems. You will work closely with the Directors and Project Leads while contributing to the overall efficiency and growth of the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the credit control function to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts
  • Monitoring debtor balances and maintaining strong cash flow performance
  • Raising and issuing invoices in line with agreed fee schedules
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records (sales and purchase ledgers)
  • Responding to client invoice queries professionally and efficiently
  • Liaising with the Directors and Project Leads regarding payment status
  • Preparing aged debtor reports and cash collection updates
  • Reviewing and improving credit control procedures
  • Assessing credit risk and managing client credit checks
  • Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses, and payment runs
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Supporting monthly financial reporting processes
  • Providing general administrative support across the business
  • Maintaining organised and audit-ready documentation systems
  • Supporting improvements to internal processes and systems

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in credit control, ideally within a professional services environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills – Confidence in handling payment discussions professionally
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of cash flow management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and accounting systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
  • Sound judgement and decision-making ability
  • A proactive approach to improving systems and processes

Location and hours:

  • Office-based, working 30 hours per week flexibly across five days with core hours between 9.00 – 15.00, aligned with business needs
