Monks Cross is one of the UK’s prime regional shopping destinations, attracting visitors both locally and from further afield. It is an exciting and dynamic retail centre with over 300,000 sq.ft of many of the UK’s favourite retail and leisure brands.

We were delighted to deliver a brand‑new Primark store at Monks Cross on behalf of our client, the Monks Cross Shopping Park Trust. Although the scheme arrived with full planning permission, we submitted a revised application to secure approval for additional plant, revised fire exits and windows, wider shopfronts and enlarged signage zones.

The new store is formed from the amalgamation of three vacant units and features a striking arrangement of bespoke fins that conceal the original cladding retained as part of the works. The fins are accentuated by a lighting system that changes colour through a timed sequence.
